Reese Nails It With Libertartian-Socialist Comparison

This topic is of great interest to me and I consider it to be one of the many influencing factors of my political beliefs and grassroots advocacy. I believe that Fredrick Resse over at Mint Press News in Minneapolis hit the nail right on the head with his great comparison of the modern libertarian and what they have in common with socialists. In, "Socialists And Libertarians Have More In Common Than They’d Like To Think", Reese helps to dispel common myths, prejudice and misunderstanding of what the true nature of modern libertarianism is. First, he deals with the 400 lb. elephant, Ayn Rand, who many portray as what the libertarian thought is based upon. Ayn Rand, however, was an objectivist, not a libertarian.

With more and more news being uncovered by independent sources and more and more opinions and free thoughts being exchanged and engaged with social media, the Internet and other forms of media, many people with both libertarian-leaning and socialist-leaning principles have shown to a great degree, some agreement on core issues facing the United States and the rest of the world.

Mint Press is a website that I believe is doing a wonderful job of providing excellent in-depth coverage of topics in news and politics in a very thoughtful way. Good job MPN!
