Central Mexico’s rich history and culture combined with its beautiful landscape makes it a top destination in the world for tourism travel as well as for vacation or living. Mexico as a whole has long been considered a top tourist destination but the area of Central Mexico has so much to offer in terms of culture and living, as it is home to one of the most advanced ancient civilizations, the Aztecs and Mayan peoples who traversed the land here left behind many ancestors as well. The Mayan were centered in Guatemala and the disappearance of their civilization has long been an archeological and historical mystery. The ancients Olmecs are also from Central Mexico and the Gulf Coast area. The country of Mexico is also ranked sixth on the number of UNESCO world heritage sites.

This area of Mexico has a uniquely functional and efficient bus system for residents and others in the country. There are also many taxis and other forms of public and private transportation in and around the Mexico City area.

Mexico City is the capital city of the country. It is also one of the largest cities in the world in terms of its population.
